Don’t go chasing waterfalls!

We spent the night in Asheville last night with the intention of leaving at a decent hour so that we could see some waterfalls on the way home. What actually happened was…we went by the Grove Park Inn in the morning and spent quite a bit of time there because they have a very interesting studio displaying different types of crafts and furniture. Then, once we finally got going, we had a little trouble locating some of the waterfalls (that may have been my fault, but I’ll never admit it!!). We did end up making it to Whitewater Falls which is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies and made the hunt worthwhile.

A day at the Biltmore.

We took mom and dad up to see the Biltmore. I think that they really enjoyed it. It was hot, but thankfully it was bearable. We had a great time seeing the house, the gardens and the winery, but maybe the most exciting thing was seeing the groundhogs!!

Cooper River Bridge Walk!

Today we got to do something pretty cool! Jo Leigh, Sharon and I went down to Charleston and walked across the new Cooper River Bridge. The grand opening of the new bridge is set for next Saturday (the 16th), but this weekend they were allowing people to walk across it. Jo Leigh and I had not been to Charleston since we moved away last July, so we really enjoyed the quick re-visit. Plus, when we moved away, the bridge was far from being completed so it was cool to see it done. I got what I think are some really good pictures, starting with the one below. (The first picture in the album is a pretty cool panoramic, but it’s a big file so those of you on dial-up might want to skip that one.)
