18 Months!

Brayden turned 18 months on January 5th. For some reason this was a tricky age for me to say (maybe b/c he is 1 1/2 years old!!!) In fact, Seth thought I was being a bit ridiculous because literally as much as 1-3 days before his “half birthday” I would say “he is 17 months old” to answer the question. I know it’s silly, but it is SO hard that he is growing up so fast! It is also REALLY fun, though! He surprises us daily, & he really is turning into such a neat little boy! He was pretty good at his doctor’s appointment & HATED his shots. Thankfully he got over it really quickly (maybe he heard them say he doesn’t have to get any more until he’s 4)! Here are his most recent stats: weight – 28 lb 12 oz (81%), height – 34 1/4 in (92%), head circumference 50 cm (95%).

Wow. Still hard to believe it’s 2010 (& it’s still hard to write it, too)! We have had a pretty good year so far, so I thought it was about time to share some of our pictures. Our good friends Josh & Kelly came up to celebrate New Years with us (an old tradition that hopefully we restarted for years to come) & Meghan & Jason got to join in the fun with us, too. We had a good time with fireworks & eating & visiting! Brayden was so excited to have new people around to play with that he actually didn’t make it to the fireworks, so we don’t know if he is a fan or not. What we do know is that somehow he slept through them!
He is just really getting to be such a big boy lately! He is constantly surprising us with new words or attempting to do what we are doing (and often succeeding)! He has been particularly funny & sweet lately with his little stuffed buddies, Elmo & Mickey. He loves them both & lately he “requests” they join us at meals & other daily tasks often. We also redid our guest bathroom recently & he seems to really enjoy it! It’s monkeys (of course) & most times when he walks in he “ooh-ooh ah-ah”s at them. Thankfully he is more willing to wash hands & brush teeth in his “new” room now, too! Woo-hoo (especially on the teeth brushing)!

Where does the time go?

Apparently, I forgot to ever put up my Christmas – Part II slide show. Here it is…at least its still January, right? Anyway, these pictures are from our celebration with family at my parents house on Christmas Eve & Christmas day at our house. We had a wonderful time both days & made lots of memories…and pictures! There are a lot of pictures here, but it’s nothing compared to how many we took!
